Therapy with Brandt Noey, LCSW
Individual Online Therapy in California and Utah
I’m listening for what happened—and what it was like for you.
I’m here alongside you, staying present to what’s actually happening. I ask questions, share what I’m noticing, and sometimes offer a framework, a challenge, or a piece of advice. I know how hard uncertainty can feel, especially when a choice carries real risk. The shot is yours to take. I can stay with you as you think it through, offer what I see, and help you notice what supports your trust in your own judgment.
What I bring to the room
I take part in the conversation.
A session can move from a detail in your story to an idea I want to offer, and back again to what it’s like for you. I want my perspective to add something to the conversation, not replace your experience of it.
01/ Attention
I listen for the details
A phrase you return to, a moment your voice changes, or what happened just before a reaction can tell us something. I want to understand the experience, not rush past it toward an explanation.
02/ Perspective
I offer what I’m thinking
I may connect something happening now with an earlier experience, explain an idea, use an analogy, or ask a direct question. I want to make my thinking available for us to consider, and to hear what you see from where you’re standing.
03/ Curiosity
I can rethink it
I can make connections quickly and get ahead of your story. If that happens, your response matters. I want to understand what I missed and let it change how I’m thinking.
How the work unfolds
Some days we make connections. Some days we stay with what is happening right now.
A session might hold a difficult question, a pause, practical conversation, an unexpected laugh, or a new way of seeing something. I take the work seriously; we don’t have to be solemn the whole time.
From my writing
If you want to hear more of how I think.
My Substack essays give you a fuller sample of the questions I return to. They’re personal reflections, not therapy advice or a promise about what therapy will be like.
On self-judgment
How doubt can become a verdict about who we are, and what that can do to our ability to move.
On perspective
A reflection on how our surroundings and relationships shape what an experience means.
On pain and curiosity
A reflection on making room to ask why something hurts while staying attentive to accountability and safety.
You get to decide whether I feel like someone you can trust.
I offer individual online therapy for adults in California and Utah. A consultation is a chance to talk with me and consider whether my way of working seems useful to you.
